about

This is a real warts-and-all kind of collection. I recently discovered a pile of cassettes I'd forgotten about, full of demos, improvisations, sketches, and complete songs from the 20th century that hardly anyone's ever heard. This is the best of the lot.

Stylistically, these pieces are all over the map. Sound and performance quality vary wildly, but it's all pretty rough. No computers were used, and I was very much learning to be a musician.

Indulgent? Probably. Interesting? To me, at least. You can judge for yourself.

Everything's written and played by me except where otherwise noted. You'll see that that's not any kind of a boast.

A few of these songs did end up being performed by bands I was in at the time—Neuseiland and, before that, The Euphonic. In those cases I've referred to the versions here as demos.

about

Andrew Glencross Halifax, Nova Scotia

I've been lucky enough to play with lots of inspiring Halifax musicians. This stuff is mostly just me.

My solo recordings were released under the name Pale Son up until 2021. Now I just feel like being myself. I am still very much a pale son, though.
